History 3

JJB Associates

Following some work with two more IT companies, I was enlisted by a manufacturing company in Wales to help review their Finance and Production systems. As well as providing support to the accounts department through on-line banking, cash-flow forecasts and all the usual spreadsheet reporting, I also assisted during the buy-out of the major competitor.

For nine months I worked part-time with another small IT company in Newcastle, enlisted by an old colleague, again providing support to the Finance Executive and the accounts department. In particular I was asked to review the company systems and procedures, offer advice and revisions, and produce revised documentation on procedures to help the company and staff develop. I was also asked to devise a new database for contracts and customers.

At the same time I was working with some ex-colleagues based in Manchester who were buying and amalgamating small service-industry companies into what is rapidly becoming one of the leading regional providers in its field. Again, support to the Finance Director, development of a customer/sales database and smooth integration were the main areas of occupation, with further cover for absent accounts staff and during busy periods.
